Pex is a crosslinked high-density polyethylene. It is manufactured, tested and certified according to the British standards BS 7291 Class S and German standard DIN 16892, which are the most stringent European standards for crosslinked polyethylene pipe used for central heating and hot/cold water systems.
The pipe meets the requirements for class 5 service conditions specified in table 1 of EN 12318 for service life of 50 years. It has an EVOH oxygen barrier within the pipe wall. It has maximum service conditions of 92C at 3bar with short term overloads up to 114C.
