Heatmiser Programmable Room Thermostat

The Heatmiser PRT is our 240 volt 5/2 day programmable room thermostat. The PRT is a programmable room stat and programmer in one, providing up to 4 different temperatures at different times of the day. It includes Optimum Start which is an energy saving feature designed to reduce the amount of heat up time required depending on the conditions in the building. In addition, this thermostat includes a keypad lock - so you can finally stop the fiddling.

Programmable Versus Non Programmable:  For those of you thinking of replacing a mechanical thermostat, we would always suggest you opt for the Heatmiser PRT. This model will allow you to program various comfort levels throughout the day. You would simply set your existing timeclock into Heating Constant mode, and let the PRT thermostat do the rest. See the FAQ section below for further advice on this.

Mounting: This thermostat is flush mounting, and therefore requires a back box sunk in the wall to accommodate the terminal box for the thermostat. We suggest a back box of 35mm which you can buy here.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q Can I replace my existing mechanical thermostat with the Heatmiser PRT :

A You need to check the number of wires you have behind your existing thermostat. If you have three, not counting the earth, then the PRT can be used as a replacement. (Note: It is likely you have an existing timer controlling the heating & hotwater. We would suggest you put this timers heating channel into Constant, then use the Heatmiser PRT to act as a programmer and thermostat.)

Q I have checked and I do have three wires, can you explain what these are ?

A These wires are known as Live (Red), Neutral (Blue) and Switch Live (Yellow)  The Live and Neutral is used to power the thermostat. The switch wire becomes live when there is a demand for heat. (You should always check the colour coding used by the original installer)

Q I have a combi boiler. Can I use this thermostat ?

A Yes, you would have two connections from the boiler which would connect across our A1, A2 terminals. Live and Neutral would be connected as usual. (4 wires required for this installation)

Changeover - Select this terminal output if your supply power is 230v and you have a valve that needs power to open, and power to close.

Standard 110v - Select this terminal output if your supply power is 110v and you require a switch live or boiler control circuit.

Terminal Options:
